My name is Desirea. I am the mother of a fiercely independent toddler and two very spoiled dogs. I graduated from Central Michigan University (Fire Up!) with a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Studies. Directly following graduation I spent some time as a Head Start/GSRP Preschool teacher, which taught me flexibility and patience. I am currently working as a Prevention and Education Specialist at a Child Advocacy Center, promoting the healthy development and well-being of children and families in my community. I have consistently been “slangin’ cakes” at local IHOP on the side since my college days. I love reading, writing, painting, running, walks in the park, scavenger hunts, surprise parties, and pursuing social and economic justice for all. I am just your average working class millennial mom willing to share my stories and experiences with strangers on the internet for likes. 😉
